Our Story

Laura Preshong, pictured right with her daughter Abby, founded her namesake jewelry brand in 2005 with a mission to transform the fine jewelry industry through ethically sourced and environmentally conscious materials. As Laura transitions into the next chapter, Abby will be carrying forward her legacy, ensuring the brand’s values of sustainability and ethical craftsmanship remain at the forefront. Laura's passion for sustainability in jewelry production stems from her desire to reduce the negative environmental impacts often associated with traditional practices. 

Growing up in central Maine, Laura continued on to study jewelry design at the Maine College of Art. What began as an eclectic fine jewelry collection grew into a brand known for its dainty, minimalist engagement rings, valued for their timeless aesthetic and robust craftsmanship. Laura’s designs quickly gained popularity, and the demand for her unique, thoughtful approach to engagement rings led the business to provide jewelry to clients across the United States and Canada.

Based in Boston, Laura Preshong remains committed to her core values, producing all pieces locally using low-impact methods within 50 miles of the gallery. The company proudly avoids overseas components, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability and community. In addition, Laura’s commitment to social responsibility shines through the brand’s ongoing support of local nonprofits, particularly those that provide essential services to underserved women.
